We are you! Four normal guys with a podcast on a quest to capture a million dollar prize on DraftKings. We are not professional gamblers. Too many shows want to give you advice BEFORE the games and that's OK, what about after the games, who is there for you? WE ARE. We are the virtual and audio DFS sports bar for your ears so we can all talk about how we almost had it, or played that one guy, laugh about decisions gone wrong, and get hyped for the dart throws that ultimately let us down. One thing we know is that goats have always been able to survive harsh environments due to their resiliency, and in DFS we have to be resilient. So, join us as we talk mainly football (other sports too), discuss dad-life necessities, and crack jokes about all corners of life. Let's meet the Milly Goats...
AK played football his entire life, like all of the milly goats, most recently as a punter and swiss army knife at App State (on the App State football website it says "one of the most versatile athletes", look it up). He once beat Pat McAfee in a coffin corner contest at a punting combine in 2005, also facts. Currently he is a Doctor of Physical therapy. He mostly appreciates witty humor and sports satire with the boys, where the idea of The Milly Goats Originated (via group text). Happily married and a father of two, the cleats have been retired for quite some time but if there were an adjusted 40 yard dash time for hot sports takes he would be sub 4.3 at the combine. A man with many nicknames (Butch P, Billy P, Gus), an Arcadia, NC native, his top sports of choice are as follows: Football, Baseball, Golf. When asked what his favorite drink was, he answered beer and black coffee. Butch P wanted the people to know that his favorite type of music was all genres. He works in the medical field as multiple traits CNA, med aide, medical coder, transportation, receptionist and basically a “yes” “I’ll do it” man. He is happily married to his beautiful wife and is quoted as saying "kids are pending". You'll be hard pressed to find a guy who enjoys creating DFS lineups, and has notched some serious wins. He enjoys shooting the breeze with his friends of 30 years, which include The Milly Goats. [PIcture: AK, J-Vi, Butch P Brother's Day uniforms 2021]
Tex was a gritty undersized D3 football player starting as a true freshman before retiring to take his academic talents to App State. It was there he forged his relationship through basement beer game heroics with the rest of The Milly Goats. After college (which was a long and winding road) he became a stellar rec league softball player. This career eventually ended as well for the greener pastures of marriage and fatherhood. He can now be found at the local ball fields coaching his kids to county championships in baseball and flag football. [Picture: J-Vi, Tex, Butch P strolling into a wedding, swag times a billion]
JVI is the looks of the group. Although J-Vi may be monotone, the term, “he has a face for radio” does not apply to him. He received best looking in 8th grade, as voted on by his peers; as well as being an all-state athlete in two sports in high school. J-Vi is the only member of The Milly Goats who did not grow up in Lexington, NC. He forged a bond with the other three while playing football at App State where he held Multiple kicking records until the NCAA decided to give kids an extra year for free and they were broken by an 8th year player. Now J-Vi keeps the competitive fire burning by winning championships in kickball and on the golf course. He also loves his girls, his lovely wife and daughter.
